What would you do if you became the richest woman in the world overnight? Multi-award winning comedian Marea Colombo tells the tale of Angela Burdett-Coutts, the greatest Baronnes you've never heard of. In a unique take on stand-up comedy, Baroness will be a chaotic and critical analysis of the state of the world. Because you know what they say - mo' money, mo' problems.

Baroness marks Colombo's third solo piece in the Dunedin Fringe Festival and is produced under Late Bloomers. Late Bloomers is an Ōtepoi-based theatre company founded by local creatives Marea Colombo and Bronwyn Wallace. The pair focus on creating original works that tell stories in innovative ways.

Previous awards include:

Outstanding Performer, Dunedin Fringe Festival 2023

Most Promising Emerging Company, NZ Fringe Festival 2023

NZ Fringe Tour Ready Award, Dunedin Fringe Festival 2022

"Comfortably the strongest performance I personally saw at the Fringe, Colombo oozes the confidence of a stage veteran whilst also seeming humble and potentially even unaware of just how good the show she has created is." - Theatre Travels

"I never find myself going more than a couple of minutes without laughing." - Art Murmurs

“Colombo’s commanding presence and fluency with words as herself, Marea, is instantly engaging, and the territory she traverses is very relatable." - John Smythe
