Salon All Sum is a communion. Salon All Sum brings together musicians and sound artists Motoko Kikkawa, black/black/blue and Kāhu, and visual artist Sam Caldwell, to create a tactile synaesthesia.

Together at AYU they will collaborate on a kōrero of sound and vision. Sam Caldwell of ArtDesignFilm presents his alchemy in situ. Liquids are projected live using a variety of tools and techniques. Shapes drip, spread, leak, and evolve, both intentionally and serendipitously.

The musicians, in turn, work their art. They correlate and reveal via tone and oscillation. Each instrument treated, re-imagined via the electronic means available to the modern player. Kāhu (electric guitar): seeking vastness, quiescence and joyous tumult. Motoko Kikkawa (violin): in the eye; the calm centre. black/black/blue introduces shimmering and pulsating synth-driven soundscapes. Sometimes soothing, often haunting, always compelling.

It is the hope and intent of the players that all attendees be forever enriched by the experience of their own contribution to Salon All Sum, a weaving of sound and light.
