Eminent techno producer son.sine (Nurture/Delsin) and Christchurch producer Box Banter present a multi-speaker exploration of the Techno narrative and its many forms. If we are doomed to repeat history then we must look for the ways to investigate the loop - to dance through it. Techno as a form, whilst both dystopian and utopian, allows us to look at infinite recursion with a focus on the pressing cultural and political question: What if we are stuck in repeat? Musical tools no longer rest in an ‘elite’ but are open to militant use by anyone and everyone. If everyone can make beats have we looped back to a tribal past? Our body speaks, lets us know through an epigenetic response to the tribal, to the primitive. Our senses reveal us in their need to be articulated and expressed. We are under a continual barrage of forms which has led to a compression of time, space, message and pressure. Our mediums corrupt. The loop constructs. Kick. Snare. High Hat. Welcome to the modern campfire where everything becomes both a form and a compression. Presented by Utopian Loops
